ACE Westchester Specialty Group, the U.S.-based wholesale focused excess and surplus property and casualty operation of the ACE Group of Companies (NYSE: ACE) today announced the formation of its Professional Risk Division. David Lupica has been appointed Executive Vice President and will have overall management responsibility of this new division. Based in Atlanta, Ga., Mr. Lupica will report to Brian Dowd, President of ACE Westchester Specialty Group.
ACE Westchester Specialty Group’s Professional Risk Division will comprise Management Liability, Professional Liability and the strategic alliance with the Wachovia-owned E-Risk Services. The Professional Risk Division will focus its distribution through wholesale brokerage firms throughout the U.S. The retail brokerage distribution of professional insurance products will continue to be conducted by ACE USA’s Professional Risk Division, part of ACE Diversified Risk.
David Lupica most recently served as Executive Vice President of the ACE USA’s Professional Risk Division. In his new role, Mr. Lupica will be responsible for development of the wholesale distribution strategy for ACE Westchester Specialty Group’s new Professional Risk Division. "David’s historical industry perspective, product knowledge, demonstrated leadership and proven talent in managing start-up operations will serve him well in this new venture," said Mr. Dowd.
Prior to joining ACE USA in January 2001, Mr. Lupica served as worldwide Product Line Manager responsible for the financial services operations of Starr Excess Liability Company Inc., of Bermuda, and was subsequently promoted to President. He also served as Senior Vice President for Alexander & Alexander (now Aon), heading up the Insurance Company Practice, and as Senior Vice President for Alexander & Alexander’s Financial Services Group. Mr. Lupica has also held several positions at American International Group (AIG). Mr. Lupica is a graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where he received his bachelor of arts degree.
