John Bassetto
President & Chief Executive Officer, ACE Asia Pacific
John Bassetto was appointed as the President & Chief Executive Officer of ACE Asia Pacific in 2002. In his role, Mr. Bassetto oversees the regional operations of ACE businesses located in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Mr. Bassetto is a seasoned insurance professional with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining ACE, he worked with two industry icons - AIG and CIGNA - in a variety of senior management and underwriting positions in the Asia Pacific. Before taking up his current role, he was the Chief Executive Officer, ACE Insurance Limited’s (formerly CIGNA) Australian Operations from 1998 to 2002. With his astute management and keen market sense, Mr. Bassetto skillfully steers business development across all product lines in the region. Of significance in particular, is his integral role in the strategic planning of ACE’s joint venture in China.
Mr. Bassetto is the Chairman of the ACE Asia Pacific Training Academy, which he was instrumental in establishing. He has an Executive Management Degree from Princeton Management Institute, Princeton, NJ.
