David Furby has been responsible for ACE Europe’s property and casualty business in Continental Europe since his appointment as President in July 2005.

Mr. Furby was appointed President of ACE Tempest Re Group in July 2002 to oversee ACE’s worldwide reinsurance operations and was responsible for the continued development of these businesses. In December 2003, Mr. Furby assumed the title of President & Chief Executive Officer, ACE Tempest Re Group to better reflect his responsibilities. Additionally at this time, Mr. Furby was appointed Corporate Reinsurance Officer with responsibility for ACE’s reinsurance coverage.

Mr. Furby joined the ACE Group of Companies in 1996 with ACE’s acquisition of the Ockham Syndicate and was Treaty Underwriter for Syndicate 219, and later Director of Inwards and Outwards Reinsurance for Syndicate 2488, ACE Global Markets.
